What to Expect in Your First Therapy Session
The first session can feel intimidating. You might wonder, “Am I doing this right?” or “What if I don’t know what to say?” Totally normal.
The truth is, there’s no wrong way to start. I’m not expecting you to come in with a full story or a perfect summary of your life. In fact, many people walk in unsure of where to begin. That’s okay.
Our first session is mostly about getting to know each other. We’ll talk about what’s brought you here, what you’re hoping to work on (if you know), and how I can support you. You’re welcome to bring your full self—mess, confusion, hesitation and all.
I’m not here to “fix” you. I’m here to listen, reflect, and walk alongside you. The most important thing is that you feel okay to chat. If we start with that, we’re already on the right path.
